Lynn Goodman
I have been working for 28 years on pieces which are thrown on a potter's wheel, individually carved and inlaid with multiple colors of glaze, and finished with gold luster. While the technique is similar, although refined from earlier years, the aesthetic focus has changed.
Over the years my focus and inspiration has shifted, from Chinese and Japanese to Turkish and Persian; from starkly minimal blacks and whites to lush color; and from a smoothly stone-like surface to a texturally varied, almost decadent surface.
The one thing that has never changed is the intent that these pieces are functional as well as decorative. They are meant to be used and enjoyed by the owner, the textures to be touched and the colors to be blended in or contrasted with the living environment.
