12. HOLIDAY Ceramics  |  Meet Your Maker and Your Potter

This show will bring together many members of  the metro New York community of clay artists, potters and progressive ceramic designers. There will be both functional and sculptural objects, including wheel-thrown, hand-built, slip cast, wood-fired and raku items. Many of the items will be one-of-a-kind. Ceramics lend the perfect opportunity to present a beautiful table for holiday dinners and upcoming parties.  The (Makers) Market's first materials-based show was presented on Sunday 11 July 2010, titled SummerWare: Ceramics in Brooklyn featuring the works of 24 ceramicists.

With the Fall harvest in full swing, this (Su) Sugar show will host a delicious tour of some of the finest chocolatiers, candymakers and bakers.  For one day only, experience the aromas and flavors of confections from around the region.  Learn how to integrate seasonal fruits in your next baked good, and see what it takes to make pastries from looking homemade to haute cuisine.  Come away appreciating the art in artisanal baking and chocolate making.

00. SYNTHETICS  |   Meet Your Maker and Your Faker

Synthetic compounds able to be shaped, molded, cast or extruded make up plastic; however, we realize this encompasses much more than just plastic, and will include all items made of synthetic material, either by the maker or recycled, reused, and repurposed.  The types of plastic used include resin, Bakelite, PVC, nylon, rubber, and synthetic rubber.  Synthetic fiber items may also be included.  Toys, jewelry, home goods,  apparel and accessories made of  synthetic fibers or recycled plastic items are all included.
