The (Makers) Market is an indoor,  artisan market located at The Old American Can Factory. It is a 'destination' market offering visitors and buyers a changing, diverse group of locally-based makers who sell their wares of enduring design, high-quality materials, and artisanal fabrication.

VENUE & LOCATION

 

 

The Old American Can Factory is a 130,000 SF historic industrial complex in Gowanus, known as a curated haven to more than 250 artists, artisans, designers, filmmakers, publishers and non-profit organizations. The (Makers) Market is set in the 5,000 SF restored street-level garage of The (OA) Can Factory located at 232 Third Street at the corner of Third Avenue, centered between Park Slope and Carroll Gardens, Red Hook and Fort Greene. The (Makers) Market joins other cultural venues based there including, Issue Project Room and Rooftop Films.

 

Public transportation to The (OA) Can Factory includes: Trains F, G & R = 5-7 min walk; and Bus B37 = 1-3 min walk. For driving directions, please visit www.xoprojects.com/contact.html. Ample street parking is available on Third Avenue and Third Street. The (Makers) Market is wheelchair accessible, and bikes and pets are welcome.

On 11/28/10, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, The (Makers) Market presents Minds over Matter (Su) Sugar, followed by (Ce) Ceramics on 12/05/10.

 

The (Makers) Market will host a Holiday Market on two 2-day weekends featuring products of any materials on Sat & Sun 12/11-12/12/10 and Sat & Sun 12/18-12/19/10.  See the Days & Hours section below for special Holiday hours. The Parks Slope Farmers Market will join The (Makers) Market on both Sundays, 12/12/10 and 12/19/10.
