  The (Makers) Market is an indoor, artisan market located at The Old American Can Factory in Gowanus. It is a 'destination' market offering visitors a changing, diverse group  of Makers who exhibit and sell their wares of enduring design, high-quality materials, and artisanal fabrication.   On Sat-Sun 18-19 Dec 2010, The (Makers) Market presented the second of two weekend Holiday Markets with a broad range of nifty, gifty wares made of any of the ten materials featured to date: Metals, Botanicals, Ceramics, Paper, Leather, Glass, Fiber, Wood, Synthetics and Sugar.

  The (Makers) Market featured more than 150 Makers and their wares that attended over 50 markets since late 2009. Farmers and food makers of the Park Slope Farmers Market are present every Sunday from 12 Dec 2010 - 22 May 2011.  

The (Makers) Market is a curated market. Artisans working in all materials are invited to apply to join The (Makers) Market, and become a member of a community of Makers that exhibit and sell their wares.

The Old American Can Factory is a haven to a curated community of more than 200 artists, artisans, designers, filmmakers, publishers, non-profit organizations and cultural venues set in an historic industrial complex on the edge of the Gowanus Canal's Fifth St  Basin in Brooklyn.

  Gowanus Valley is nestled centrally between Carroll Gardens and Park Slope, Boerum Hill and Red Hook. The (OA) Can Factory sits in the nexus of a neighborhood surrounded by many arts & culture destinations as well as eateries & shops, minutes walk in any direction.
